Aram Lane

My name is Aram Lane and I’m from Emerald, Queensland.

My creative practice consists mainly of film and music. However, I’ve previously held interest in visual arts and design. I love to play out a scenario in my head and then attempt to bring it to life through film, especially sport edits and short travel films. I also love the relationship between music and film and how a visual representation of music can aid in a fuller, more interactive experience with the two art forms.

I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in some ‘unorthodox’ activities such as water sports, motor sports, snow sports and other action sports of which aren’t available to the average person. I’ve always loved being able to bring a world of fun and enjoyment to people through film, introducing them to new worlds of possibilities and inspiring them to ‘see for themselves’. Travelling is also one of my favourite hobbies; that addictive feeling of discovery is another experience I would love to share. I want to be involved filming a group such as GoPro or Redbull Media where I could travel the world to events and locations and promote these activities and sports to a wider audience, inspiring the world to follow their dreams, try new things and live life to the fullest.

My projects are primarily filmed with GoPro action cameras. Post-editing is done in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. I usually upload my films to social media such as Vimeo, but for the Momentum exhibition I will display from a projector with audio equipment or simply use a TV.
