Sean McBain
My name is Sean McBain and I’m a local artist, writer and designer.
There are a variety of creative fields I practice in, all of which I try to incorporate together. These include creative writing, illustration and media design.
Visual arts and illustration have always been my key interests from an early age. After studying in this field both during and after secondary education, I aimed to broaden my skills by undergoing a Major in Media Design at James Cook University. From this, I’ve realised how connected these two seemingly different fields actually are and have aimed to use them together as representation of myself as a creative. Along with this, my fascination with creative writing and poetry has had a great influence on the subject matter and presentation of my final artworks and design choices. It is my overarching goal to be a professional, successful designer and published illustrator and author.
As a first for myself, I’ve decided to digitally illustrate three scenes interpreted from three original free verse poems that I’ve written. Each of these illustrations will be partially animated to show a semi-active story based on the poem’s narrative.
